I'm calling it a day and have uploaded my film to my main website on a hidden page as that one has enough storage to host it.
You can view it here.
The film talks you through the fact that my work is about place which I discover through walking. I also sketch, research and ponder my experience of place.
I then go and make prints. I can't help but experiment with techniques. I record my experiments in a sketchbook and try to make notes to guide my future self.
The film then shows many of the pieces that I have made over the course of the MA.
I also have a place specific sketchbook for the Swinley Forest.
More recently I've begun to explore the commercial timber aspect of the forest. I show a couple of the prints I've made recently and that I'm currently working on.
I go back to the forest and sketch some more. It's important to my practice that I return again and again.
Currently I'm working on a large installation piece (for our end of course show) and I'm using a lot of experimental imagery and technique in this. I show the lino in the forest being covered in mud and then how the marks on it developed.
The piece will go back to the forest.
