Ok, so I've managed to make 2 films!! I made one and then decided it was really dull. It's also got a lot of stuff about the forest in to rather than about my practice so I decided to try again.
I went to the forest laden down with stuff (again!) and managed to make two timelapse's of me sketching which I was really pleased with. I've never managed it before. It wasn't terribly comfortable to do as I have to perch on an already uncomfortable stool and hold the sketchbook at a slightly odd angle so the camera could capture it, but I think they do the job of showing my incredibly scribbly, haphazard method of sketching. I just wish I sounded better in the voice over. Having just had to listen to the recording of my last tutorial while writing it up I'm thoroughly sick of the sound of my own voice!! Everyone else always manages to do lovely voiceovers, mine always seem to sound really weird, even my husband said so!
Anyway, it's been a really interesting process to really try and think about what I want to communicate about my work and how it's made. I'm still doubting whether it's the best I can make it. I think I need to tweak a few of the clips - there's too much lino and not enough of some other things in there at the moment. I think it shows that I do slightly odd things (take a huge piece of lino to the forest, press it into mud and get the kids to walk all over it!) and keep expanding the making side of things, as well as outlining what I'm trying to work on now.
I just really hope it's ok and that Jonathan doesn't find it too dull! It turns out 5 minutes is both a really long time and a really short time!
