I unpacked the lithino prints I made to see what I've got and am quite pleased. I think a couple can stand alone and some others will make good backgrounds for having something else added on top. There are also several different types of paper being used here which was also interesting to experiment with.

I envisage some of this being used whole and some being torn and stitched to create something quite organic looking. I'm really pleased with the effect I've managed with the white ground etching:

I think I'm really starting to get somewhere with a variety of marks that are interesting and seem to replicate what I see in the forest. I'd like to use some of the monoprints I've made using ferns and grasses and slip them in around the base of the tree trunk. I'm looking forward to starting to tear and stitch some paper!
I've tried experimenting with tea and coffee to stain some paper to get a more natural colour as a base since some of it is very white.

I was a little surprised to discover that tea is far more effective. It also seems to survive the soaking that will be needed for this paper (Somerset satin) for etchings/lithography. The paper is buff to start with but the tea makes a big difference.
